It's been an exciting week for owner/breeder Peter Redekop and Alistair Roden Bloodstock. Last Friday Anneau D'Or finished a fast closing second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita. This Friday, Peter Redekop is the breeder of the highest price weanling to sell at auction in 2019.
The beautiful Curlin filly out of the Giant's Causeway mare FLY TO THE STARS, realized a breathtaking $775k, to OXO Equine's Larry Best.
Alistair Roden Bloodstock twice purchased the mare FLY TO THE STARS on behalf of two different clients. First at the 2017 Keeneland January Sale for $21k for Dr. Bryan Anderson, then again at that year's Fasig Tipton November Sale for $125k, after her son, THE TABULATOR won the 2017 G3 Iroquois Stake. Bred to Curlin last year, the filly was born and raised at Indian Creek Farm who also consigned her at the sale.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this special individual and the best of luck to Larry Best, we'll look forward to following her in the future!
