About Alistair Roden
Horses are my life
Born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland Alistair started working with horses from an early age. Growing up he did just about everything you could do on horseback; showing, showjumping, hunting, point to point racing and working on stud farms.
Having worked on stud farms all over the world including Australia and New Zealand, Alistair settled in Kentucky in 1985. Employed by Gainesway Farm for six years, he worked with greats such as Blushing Groom, Vaguely Noble, Lyphard, Riverman and many more world class stallions.
Alistair worked as Stallion Manager with Vinery Kentucky, developing stallions such as Red Ransom, Black Tie Affair, Langfuhr and travelling with them each year to Australia.

Alistair then joined the Stallion Seasons and Marketing Department at Vinery, promoting the stallions and studying their pedigrees to help clients make informed decisions for mating mares and evaluating young foals by those stallions.
In 2003 Alistair started Roden Bloodstock with 30+ years' valuable experience in Kentucky. The business continues to grow with a great base of loyal clients who appreciate his straight forward, no nonsense advice, honesty and experience. Never one to turn down an opportunity to travel Alistair is often out of state, however most trips include at least one early morning visit to the local racetrack!
